Leading businesses recognize that corporate social responsibility is good business and that well-structured CSR and environmental practices deliver triple bottom line benefits to people, planet and profits. A critical characteristic of a sustainable organization is having the ability to measure and report the environmental performance of the organization.
Organizations need the ability to provide both internal and external stakeholders
with accurate and verifiable measures of an organization's practices that prove they are environmentally compliant and sustainable.
And they need knowledgeable, trained professionals to assist them.
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) produces a comprehensive Sustainability Reporting Framework that is widely used around the world, to enable greater organizational transparency. The Framework, including the Reporting Guidelines, sets out
the Principles and Indicators organizations can use to report their economic, environmental, and social performance. GRI is committed to continuously improving and increasing the use of the Guidelines, which are freely available to the public.
GreenBusiness WORKS is collaborating with a GRI Certified training organization who will present the Certified Training, hosted by Edelman in partnership with the City of Atlanta - Mayor's Office of Sustainability.
